SHERWOOD INN FINALIZES MAJOR RENOVATIONS
Hotel & Dining Room To Reopen
Skaneateles, NY - After two months
of construction, the Sherwood Inn recently re-opened its newly
renovated Dining Room and Banquet Facilities, as well as its
24 Guest Rooms. The nearly 200-year-old Inn has undergone
its most extensive renovation ever under current owner Bill
Eberhardt, who purchased the property 30 years ago.
The Sherwood, which began construction
in February of this year, re-opened its newly redesigned Dining
Room on Easter Weekend (April 10th), serving a special Easter
Brunch and Easter Dinner.
The renovations provided a much needed
facelift to the Sherwood Inn’s dining and banquet rooms
and expanded its seating capacity up to 350 for cocktails
or 300 seated. While the footprint of the dining and banquet
facilities remains the same, retracting walls and French doors
have been installed which allows the rooms to open up to create
one large banquet room or to be closed off for smaller, more
intimate parties. Holmes, King, Kallquist & Associates
is the architectural firm on the project, while David B. Lee
& Company, Inc., of Skaneateles is the contractor.
The Sherwood Inn has retained the
ambiance of the traditional country inn while adding some
tasteful additions. The new dining rooms have a countrified
English look provided by the design team of Cody and Wolff,
Inc., with new carpet and wall coverings, traditional lighting
fixtures and furniture, antique paintings and mirrors, and
accessories. Additions will include a wall of French doors
accessing the Front and West Porches, a fireplace in the Conference
Room, and a new Wine Bar in the Dining Room. The Inn also
built an additional storage area and future space in the rear
of the building.
A Grand Re-Opening Celebration will
take place on May 5th.
