Van Heusen Legacy Event Debuts for Skaneateles

Four Oscars, an Emmy, more songs recorded by Sinatra than any other, music for six Hope/Crosby Road pictures, one of only ten original inductees to the Songwriters Hall of Fame – Central New York’s own Chet Babcock, aka Jimmy Van Heusen, has  a legacy long overlooked in his home town. With the help of Anyela’s Vineyards and The Sherwood Inn, we’re designing an annual event to celebrate the contribution of this genius of The Great American Songbook.

With the help of the Sherwood Inn, we’re creating the only “supper club” entertainment lounge in Skaneateles at the spectacular Anyela’s Vineyeards, with gourmet food stations and Anyela’s fine wines available. This event provides opportunities for youth in the many scholastic activities of CNY Jazz. Needy youngsters will be able to attend programs like Scholastic Jazz Jams, Jazz At The Fair, SummerJazz Workshop, Stan Colella Parks & Rec All-Stars, Jazz Arts Institute Jam Factories and CNY Jazz Ambassadors, their scholarships and transport provided with the help of proceeds raised at this cabaret.

Come Fly With Me, Darn That Dream, My Kind of Town, Imagination, Polka Dots and Moonbeams, High Hopes, Moonlight Becomes You, Going My Way…the list of hits is almost endless.

Won’t you join us?
